What is a Tutor Share?
With everything going on in this new COVID-19 world, many families are trying to decide what options are best for their children's education. We don't yet have clear understanding of what the traditional school system will look like this fall as officials continue to work on the issue. Even with a hybrid system implementing both in person and online instruction, students could still be potentially exposed to dozens, even hundreds of people each day! You also might not be able to imagine your curious, energetic little one stuck in an environment where they are mandated to wear a mask and stay 6 feet apart from their friends all day long. Its easy to doubt the quality of education your child will receive.
You may have considered the option of homeschooling your children but felt the idea too daunting, or even impossible to fit around your work schedule and other responsibilities. Having a private, qualified tutor could solve this issue, but with so many families feeling the financial strain caused by the circumstances of COVID-19, this too may have not been an option for you.
Patty Cake Nannies is happy to provide a solution to these problems. Our Tutor Share program for families allows your children to participate in a homeschool program with a private tutor but you don't have to absorb the entire $20+/hour cost. Watch your children's education flourish as they benefit from smaller tutor to student ratios without the inevitable hassles that will arise this fall in our school systems.
What is the Process?
Our program is simple, Patty Cake Nannies will match you with other interested families in your area, OR you identify other friends/families you know who might be interested in sharing a tutor! Then, complete a "Tutor Share Registration Form", pay your registration fee to activate your placement process, sit back and relax as we send you portfolios of highly qualified teachers/tutors for your families!
What's the Going Rate?
At Patty Cake Nannies, we understand that not every family can afford a private tutor. This is why we've developed a way for families to share these costs with our Tutor Share program. The cost of your Tutor will depend on the number of children included in the classroom (as low as $5/hr!) Your tutors salary will be pre-calculated at a monthly rate and will be due the 1st of the month. Out of consideration for the tutor and other families involved, tuition is due regardless of absences/missed days.
Registration Fee
To begin your search for your placement process, we require a $150 retainer per family. This is a one-time, non refundable fee that will be deducted from the total cost of your placement fee when a match is made.
What Else do I Need to do?
You get to choose a homeschool curriculum. During the placement process, we are happy to provide homeschool program information and recommendations based on your preferences. By law, you will be required to register your home as a homeschool. Please see important links below for more details.
