Miles's school closes several times per year for parent-teacher conferences. We need assistance on those days. In addition, we need help during the holidays, when he has 2 weeks of school and we only have 1 week off from work. We can plan these dates in advance. On the school closure days, we need help for a full day.
If a nanny (hopefully) stays with us beyond the school year, we keep a similar schedule except that sometimes camps don't start until 9 am and end by 3 pm, which shifts the hours a little bit. We don't yet know which camps (he) will attend, so we don't have this schedule yet.
If the nanny is a good cook, we would love to hire someone for meal prep for the family for 1-2 meals/week in addition to childcare. We could negotiate additional pay for this responsibility. It is not a requirement for the job, but for the right person, it could be extra responsibility and income. "
